There’s always a swell somewhere on this planet calling me and as long as the airlines are flying, so are my cameras. Occasionally, we get an upgrade, but honestly, I couldn’t care less. As long as I make it to the spot before the swell hits, I’m good.
A PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEY: Kicking Photographic Goals, Chasing Swells and Following my Creative Instincts. 2023 was a great year to be alive, to be free to travel the world, to attend surf events, explore new locations and experience all the magic this life has to offer.
COME HELL OR HIGH WATER: I've been known to beg, borrow and borrow some more, just to be where the action is, where the swell finally collides with a reef or land form. See all the surf action from behind the scenes.
Surf Photography - DARK FUN: Those who pursue the dark fun of a wild ocean. Some would call them Wave Hunters, Southern Lords - either way they are an admirable breed of their own.
PERFECT WAVES FROM AROUND THE WORLD: A collection of some personal all time favourites. Perfection being a subjective term, some waves are perfect for surfing & some more so for their sheer power.
MONSTER SURF AT NIAS: The usual suspects, the team of big wave surf nomads that circulate the globe, arrived at a similar time to myself, in time for an 8-10ft swell.
BIG WAVE SURFERS IN FIJI: Cloudbreak 2018. Rain was going side ways and there was no avoiding getting every thing wet if you wanted to get the shot. I had a $1,000 camera equipment repair bill after that trip, but managed to capture those rare moments in surfing history – it was worth it.

RIDING THE CHAOS - One of the most celebrated waves in surfing history – Nathan Fletcher rides the wave of the day in the storm of the century from the Code Red swell that hit Tahiti in 2011. With nerves of steel captain George Riou places his vessel (and all those aboard) in the perfect spot for me to document this historical ride.
