From a Distance

There are moments when the ocean appears less like movement and more like structure. At Teahupo'o, this happens briefly, when the reef and swell align and the entire wave presents itself in a single continuous form before it breaks back into motion.

The wave stretches in a long controlled arc across the frame, small figures visible in the distance offering just enough reference to reveal its true proportion. Above it, a muted sky steps aside and allows the structure below to carry the full weight of attention.

Distance can reveal what proximity never sees.
