Light on the Surface

In black and white, Teahupo'o becomes something else entirely. What light and shadow reveal on a glassy surface, the particular reflective quality when the angle is right, becomes the only subject.

I chose black and white because of what the light was doing to the water. The face of the wave had taken on a mirror-like quality, smooth and deeply reflective, the texture visible only where the light caught the surface at its finest edges. Colour would have softened that. Black and white made it precise.
