ATLANTIC UPRISING - Nazaré.

Along the wild coastline of Nazaré, Portugal, the Atlantic reveals one of its most mesmerising displays of energy. Long-period swells travel thousands of kilometres across deep water before meeting the rugged headlands of this remarkable coastline. As each wave meets the cliffs, the rebounding surge of backwash rises to meet the next incoming swell.

For a brief moment the ocean lifts upon itself.

What begins as restless motion suddenly forms into something striking and sculptural, a towering rise of water shaped by the meeting of swell, coastline and the deep pulse of the Atlantic. In this fleeting exchange, chaos finds form and the sea reveals its extraordinary architecture.
