Northern Spirits

In the quiet of Iceland’s northern landscape, I encountered a small herd of Icelandic ponies, resilient creatures shaped by wind, isolation and time. Their thick winter coats and windswept manes speak of life lived close to the elements, enduring where few others do.

They moved with an unassuming presence, curious yet calm, briefly sharing space within the stark stillness of the land. In that moment, they felt inseparable from the landscape itself, part of its rhythm, rather than separate from it, before drifting back into the open terrain.
