Currumbin in Light — A Sanctuary

Ted Grambeau invites us into the rhythm of life in Currumbin, where the ocean, beach and the people who gather around them create a feeling that is difficult to put into words. There is the energy of the water, the warmth of a familiar face, the quiet of an early morning and the long light of evening. Moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed become something to hold onto, a reminder of the simple pleasure of being here.

In Currumbin in Light, Ted’s camera turns towards that feeling, the connection between the ocean, the people and the everyday moments that make Currumbin such a special place to live, visit and belong.

Ted has spent a lifetime photographing oceans and coastlines around the world, following waves, light and the raw energy of the sea. Here, his eye comes home to something closer and quieter. The same fascination with light, movement and atmosphere is found in the smallest moments of life beside the ocean.

It’s a glimpse into a way of life. A place where the ocean is part of the rhythm of the day, where people come together and where simple moments can feel like the ones that matter most.

Currumbin in Light is Ted's personal photographic tribute to that place and to the feeling of being there.
