It's been years that I've known Tom. We've travelled to some amazing locations on this great planet, hung out with epic crew, and had a hell of good time doing it. Over several decades, give or take a few years, I've been privy to some of his finest surfing moments.
Some never spoken of, while others go down in history. I was there to document his first wave at JBay and that time he was surfing a Tommy Peterson Fireball at Fishbowls and not forgetting our epic exploration of the Kamchuka Peninsula in Russia back in 2004.
But the one that everyone keeps talking about when I've mentioned that 'I'm doing a book' is that time he made history, the most memorable Backdoor wave ever documented.
I was given the seemingly impossible assignment to connect with Tom whilst he was briefly in Hawaii. And, well the rest is history. One roll of film, 30 frames, you can read the rest in my book.
Four decades of constant travel, adventure and photography - 'Ted Grambeau + Adventures in Light' book is now available to own.
